Take Time To Taco in Ballarat

It has been a long time between posts - but it has been that sort of year.  

Let's see if I can do better in 2013.

I now live in Ballarat and there has been a new addition to the food scene here - The Taco Van.  The Taco Van is operating currently out of the customer car park of the Good Guys in Mair Street, Ballarat.

My friend Ian and I turned up about 7pm.

Customers there - but things a little quiet.

We ordered.

We had a Taco Box to share.

Ian had the flake taco and I had the frijoles (beans - a vegetarian option).

This came with fries and a bottle of Mexican Cola which we shared.

The Mexican Cola actually comes from Mexico!

Pretty soon, business was brisk.

  

And people were happily munching

all across the car park!

 

 

If you are catching or getting off an evening train

at the Ballarat Railway Station

all you have to do is take a little extra time to

come down that ramp with the red railing fence

called Coffee Palace Lane,

cross the road to the car park and you are there.

Feed your face with good food nicely priced.

The Boatshed at Ballarat: a beacon in bleak Ballarat

There comes a time in the life of a blogger when life has to be lived...not just blogged about. There have been a number of things that Miss Eagle has been involved in since her last appearance here. Prime among them was attending a conference in Ballarat and doing the tourist thing before and after. Miss Eagle, a relative newcomer to Victoria, had never been to Ballarat. So she went up pre-conference to do Sovereign Hill, the Eureka Centre and the Fine Art Gallery. After the conference, she did the Great Tourist Road home through The Grampians and via The Great Ocean Road.

It sure looks like she will have difficulty getting out of the mud.

And this was breakfast. Wonderful.

All in all, The Boatshed was the place to be on a bleak Ballarat winter day.

Warm surroundings and warmed by the tucker.

Well worth another visit, methinks!
